Our goal is to create aerial artists, both casual and professional
We serve people who…
aspire to create.
want fitness to be fun.
delight in learning new things.
love to see themselves improve.
Three Pillars
Rapid Growth
At Vocab Arts, we turn dreams into competence, fast. Our small class sizes (just 5-7 students) mean you get personalized attention from day one. We customize the curriculum to where you’re at, whether you’re a beginner or aiming for the pros. Take Lillyth Dimarco: with no prior experience, she reached our advanced programs and plans to compete in the Elite category at a Circo Fest, with her own choreography, after just over a year.
Community
Vocab Arts isn’t just a studio, it’s a home. Our free practice times give you extra hours to hone your skills and connect with fellow aerialists in a relaxed, structure-free environment. The studio is designed around community, with a cozy living room and dining area to unwind, plus a free coffee/tea bar. We host several showcases each year and the occasional student social event, so you can cheer each other on and celebrate together.
Expertise
Our coaches are active performers in Calgary’s circus scene, and they know what it takes to become a professional. Our head coach, Ariel Bartsch, was the first to learn using our model, rapidly advancing to performing locally and then touring shortly after. Now, she splits her time as a full-time circus artist between coaching at Vocab and performing. With our connections to local circus companies and a focus on student training times, Vocab Arts is your launchpad to a circus career.
